CUPA ROMÂNIEI OFFSHORE 2024 – General Rules

1. ORGANISING AUTHORITY (OA)

Cupa României Offshore 2024 it is organized by the Yacht Club Sportiv Seanergya with the support of Black Sea Magic SRL and Seanergya Yachting SRL.

2. ELIGIBILITY [NP]

2.1 Cupa României Offshore 2024 is open to all boats having a valid ORC certificate.

2.2. ORC classes:

• Sport displacement ≤ 3000kg;
• A1       displacement > 3000Kg,     Dynamic Allowance ≤ 0.275,         CDL > 10
• A2      displacement > 3000Kg,      Dynamic Allowance ≤ 0.275,        CDL ≤ 10
• B1       displacement > 3000Kg,      Dynamic Allowance > 0.275,        CDL > 9.5
• B2      displacement > 3000Kg,      Dynamic Allowance > 0.275,         CDL ≤ 9.5
• First 40.7 Beneteau First 40.7 boats – scoring will be calculated by extracting it from A1 Class.

2.3. International ORC certificates are mandatory for registering in A1 and A2 classes

2.4. Non-Spinnaker ORC certificates are allowed only for registering in Open class.

2.4. Double Handed ORC certificates are allowed only for registering in Sport class.

2.5. Cupa României Offshore 2024 classes are constituted if at least 4 boats are registered.

2.6. A boat must be present at minimum one of the regattas listed on point 3 to be registered. In order for a boat to fulfill its entry status in the Cupa României Offshore 2024, she must start at least one of the scheduled races.

2.7. Sail numbers are mandatory. The Race Committee may approve exceptions for this rule after a written request.

3. SCHEDULE [NP]

3.1 Five (5) regattas are scheduled to be held on the following dates:

• 24-26 May 2024        –    Seanergya Regatta 2024;
• 13-16 June 2024        –    Friendship Regatta 2024;
• 28-30 June 2024       –    Life Harbour Regatta 2024;
• 2-4 August 2024       –    Best of Summer Regatta 2024;
• 23-25 August 2024   –    Kaufland Regatta 2024.

3.2 Cupa României Offshore 2024 is valid if at least 2 regattas are completed.

4. SCORING

4.1. Registered boats (ORC Sail Number) will be scored based on the regattas (listed at point 3) scores.

4.2. Classes will have separate or combined starts. Each class will have separate scoring.

4.3. Low Points scoring system will apply.

4.4. Series ties will be broken using RRS A8.

4.5. When less than 5 regattas listed at point 3 have been completed, a boat’s cup score will be the total of her regattas scores.

4.6. When 5 regattas listed at point 3 have been completed, a boat’s cup score will be the total of her regattas scores, excluding the worst regatta score.

4.7. A boat will score only in the class the was first registered.

4.8. A boat not participating in one regatta listed at point 3 will be scored DNC for that regatta and will accumulate a number of point equal with the number of boats registered in the class plus 1.

5. PRIZES AND TROPHIES

5.1 The first three boats in A1, A2, B1, B2, Sport and First 40.7 classes will receive trophies and/or medals.

5.2 Other prizes and trophies might be awarded on OA discretion.

6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in Cupa României Offshore 2024 entirely at their own risk. The Organizing Authority and any part involved in the organization disclaim any and all responsibility whatsoever for loss, damage, injury or inconvenience that might occur to persons and materials, both ashore and at sea as a consequence of participation in the event. Each boat owner or his representative accepts these terms by signing the entry form. The attention of competitors is drawn to RRS Part 1 Fundamental Rule 3: A boat is solely responsible for deciding whether or not to start or to continue racing.

7. INSURANCE

7.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with adequate cover taking into account the value of the boats racing and the measure of damages likely to arise in the event of an accident.

7.2 The OA is not responsible for verifying the status or validity of insurance certificates.
